That Infection Called Love

Memories of you and I still linger -

They give me unnecessary headaches.

As annoying as an unseen splinter,

The stinging reminds me of my mistakes.

It's an infection creeping through my head,

Slowly making it's way through my body.

Insects finding a way to live and spread,

Succeed in finding life to embody.

I have lost all hope in finding a cure,

With ears closed, refrain to be helped by friends.

I have learned to accept and to endure,

The tears in my heart that will never mend.

But although I am in constant trial,

He makes it all better with his smile.
