Escape
The train arrives promptly at eight o' five
And she takes a seat at the farthest bench.
Heart beating fast, telling her she is alive,
Escaping a life that was so entrenched.
Surrounded by unchanging ideals
That only altered in the depth of night,
Make this moment feel so unreal,
And she hardly had to put up a fight.
She thought she was held back by everyone,
She thought her tall dreams were pushed down and trapped.
She always had an excuse and reason
That caused her to stay, since it was so apt.
But the door to your dreams is always there,
Unlocked by courage and closed shut by fear.
