Is this it?

I’m not sure about it all anymore,
The doubt lingers like a shot of Malort.
Disgusted, I ask what this was all for?
Then life orders a round - his faux support.

Seconds, minutes, days, months, and years go by.
I’m addicted to an ignorance,
Or rather a denial to ask why,
The meaning, the reasons, the importance.

I sit in silence, feeling my conscience,
All too aware of my mortality,
And never breaking free from the fated fence
Which separates me from finding clarity.

Still at the bar, lost in my train of thought,
He winks at me, pouring another shot.
